Paper published in Journal of Product Innovation Management

The paper “The Impact of Information Technology on New Product Development Performance” has been published online before print in the Journal of Product Innovation Management, the leading academic innovation management journal. The paper is co-authored by Timo Mauerhoefer, Steffen Strese, and Malte Brettel who are part of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Group (WIN) within the TIME Research Area. Based on survey data obtained from managers of new product development (NPD) projects, the study develops a comprehensive conceptual model and empirically investigates how IT and non-IT organizational determinants translate into NPD IT capabilities and competences and how these are related with performance outcomes of NPD projects. In doing so, this paper offers new insights into how firms can better benefit from the digitization of the new product development process.
