Mapping the Discipline of MNC Innovation: A Bibliometric Analysis
This study analyses the theoretical foundation of multinational corporation (MNC) innovation. It employs quantitative methodologies to derive a profound review on scientific studies in the domain. Using techniques of citation and co-citation analyses such as factor analyses and multidimensional scaling (MDS), I analyze a data set of roughly 9.000 articles and in-proceedings that have dealt with the topic. The bibliometric analyses should uncover key research gaps, the domain’s most influential studies and the hidden schools of MNC innovation. Employing a topic modeling approach, the full-text studies should be used to identify these schools. As a result my study should contribute a holistic theoretical map for the discipline of MNC innovation by reviewing not only the most prominent and highly cited studies in the field, but considering the domain as a whole.
