The Regional Innovation Lab celebrates another excellent thesis, written by Mr Alexander Völker
Date of announcement: May 2022
Title: Value Appropriation in Nascent Innovation Ecosystems: The Role of Intellectual Property Management
In his thesis, Mr Völker investigates the role of intellectual property management in emerging innovation ecosystems in order to ensure value creation by ecosystem actors. For this purpose, an in-depth study of ecosystem patent portfolios was conducted, and the determinants of value creation postulated by Teece (1986) were evaluated.
The results include a detailed description of three innovation ecosystems that are part of a national structure development programme. In addition, the applicability of patent portfolio analyses in the start-up phase of innovation ecosystems was tested.
The Regional Innovation Lab joins the AMSM network!
Date of announcement: February 2022
The innovation network Additive Manufacturing Surface Manipulation (AMSM), is a network of industrial companies and research institutions from the fields of mechanical and plant engineering, surface processing, sensor technology, process engineering, automation, innovation management and specialists from additive manufacturing. The aim of the partners is to jointly develop and market a holistic technology platform that enables the processing of additively manufactured components so that the post-processing steps of cleaning, colouring and joining can be integrated holistically into the additive manufacturing process chain.
Within the network, the Regional Innovation Lab focuses primarily on the economic implications of the technology for innovation management and researches the development of the technology platform.
We look forward to a successful collaboration!
