Implementing open innovation: An empirical analysis of organizational parameters

Many firms have already tested open innovation yet only a few have implemented an open innovation strategy on a permanent basis. Which aspects foster openness? Open innovation describes a new form of collaboration and in contrast to traditional inter-firm collaboration in open innovation several diverse actors interact in a rather informal way. Thus, firms need to adapt their collaboration capabilities to new requirements. Especially firms need to build competence in organizing for open innovation.
This thesis seeks to empirically investigate capabilities to organize search for information from the perspective of the behavioral theory of the firm. To successfully write this thesis basic knowledge in innovation management, literature search, research methods and statistical analysis is recommended.
