Current Issues
The Case course is only offered in the winter semester. Current information can be found here. Due to the Corona Pandemic, the Case Course is currently planned as a fully digital format. However, if the situation permits, individual courses will be held in persona with the partner companies on site. The format will be communicated in time in RWTH Online.
Content
The initial session will provide an overview of relevant methods for solving case studies. Furthermore, a substantial part of the course will focus on three specific case studies that will be presented and discussed in collaboration with real companies.
This year's cases will be presented by Targus Management Consulting, innogy Consulting, Bain & Company and arvato Bertelsmann. Throughout the course the case studies will be solved by the participants independently in a small group setting. The results will be presented in front of a joint jury comprising company and university representatives. An additional introduction into basic methods of solving and presenting case studies will be provided as well.
Objectives
Students know common methods for solving case studies and are able to apply these in practice. They are able to recognize problem situations within a corporate context, identify causes, derive solutions and successfully present them in the context of case studies.
Prerequisites
Participants should be enrolled in a technical, science or business program.
The number of participants is limited. Registration details can be accessed via CAMPUS.
