Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship

 

General Description

On July 1, 2014, Alan Mulally stepped down as President and Chief Executive Officer of Ford Motor Company. To honor his outstanding service to Ford, the Company established a new global scholarship program – The Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship. RWTH Aachen University, in collaboration with Ford Motor Company, is the only university in Germany to offer its students the opportunity to apply for the scholarship.

Framework

The funding supports the scholarship recipient with $10,000 (USD). Moreover, the scholarship recipient will be connected with the Ford Blue Oval Scholars database and initiative, which allows the scholarship winner to maintain an ongoing relationship with Ford and other high-qualified scholars.

Who can apply?

2nd or 3rd year Bachelor students and 1st year Master students who will be matriculated at RWTH Aachen University for at least one more year

Major related to Automotive Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Science Engineering)

Strong communication skills (i.e., English Proficient) and outstanding grades (German GPA of 1.5 or better or performance among top 5% of their peers (Dean’s List))

Leadership role in academic- or community-based settings (i.e., on-campus organizations, community volunteer work, other engineering related activities)

Additional Requirements and submission

  • 1-page essay (400-500 words) describing your interest in Automotive Engineering, previous leadership role(s) held and why you are the best candidate for this scholarship
  • 1 recommendation letter from a faculty member (i.e., professor)
  • your CV (in English) and current transcript of records with GPA
