Generative AI models, such as ChatGPT and GPT-4, are increasingly capable of generating creative output, including creative ideas, which are an important prerequisite for successful innovation processes. If the creative aspect of these processes can increasingly be taken over by AI in the future, this will have an impact on the distribution of tasks between humans and AI. In this context, the question arises, among other things, of how humans deal with AI-generated ideas. In particular, it is unclear whether phenomena such as the Not-Invented-Here Syndrome or Algorithm Aversion or Algorithm Appreciation occur and what causes these phenomena in this context. Therefore, the thesis will empirically investigate under what conditions AI-generated ideas are accepted or rejected.

The thesis includes the following tasks:
• Literature research
• Development of research design (qualitative or quantitative)
• Data collection
• Data analysis and presentation of results
• Discussion of results and derivation of future research questions

The above-described work is a first draft. There is the possibility to incorporate your own ideas into the final design of the thesis. If you are interested in the topic, please send a short cover letter, CV, and transcript of records to bouschery@time.rwth-aachen.de.
