Paper accepted for publication in MIS Quarterly
The paper entitled “Investing in Information Systems: On the Behavioral and Institutional Search Mechanisms Underpinning Hospitals’ IS Investment Decisions” has been accepted for publication in MIS Quarterly, the leading outlet for information systems research and widely considered an A+ journal. The paper is co-authored by Torsten-Oliver Salge (RWTH Aachen University), Rajiv Kohli (College of William & Mary), and Michael Barrett (University of Cambridge). In their study, the authors integrate arguments from instutitional theory and the behavioural theory of the firm to develop and validate a holistic model of the motives underpinning senior managers' decisions to allocate scarce resources to IS. The insights offered by this study add to our understanding of IT resource allocation processes and provide valuable stimuli on how to expand the agenda of IS-payoff research.
